Walsall boss in danger warning

Walsall manager Richard Money has warned his side that tomorrow's visit to Luton has "danger written all over it".

The Saddlers visit Kenilworth Road just days after a consortium fronted by TV presenter Nick Owen secured the club's immediate future and Money believes that this will give the Hatters a real boost on the pitch as well as off it.

"I think this game has danger written all over it," Money said.

"I would suggest that you have a look at their squad and have a look at what their team sheet might be tomorrow.

"Have a look at who was substitute on Tuesday and who was substitute last Friday at Swansea and recognise the test that we are in for this weekend.

"There is no doubt the fact that the takeover being sorted will give them a boost.

"I think that anyone who plays Luton between now and the end of the season are in for one hell of a match."

The Hatters have shown an upturn in form over their last two matches – only conceding late in the game against leaders Swansea on Friday and dominating Millwall on Tuesday – and Money believes that his Luton counterpart is starting to have an influence at Kenilworth Road.

"It looks to me as though Mick Harford is beginning to get his thoughts across to the team," Money said. "Their last couple of performances have been excellent.

"They took Swansea all the way until the 70th minute and they went down to 10 men. By all accounts they absolutely battered Millwall and this is a real tough game.

"There'll be a massive atmosphere – it's puts a whole different perspective on their season and I genuinely believe that they have a squad that should be in the top six and not the bottom four."

Money made 44 appearances for Luton in the 1982-83 season and is keen to re-acquaint himself with old friends tomorrow.

"You always look forward to going back to your old clubs," he said. "I had some fantastic times there. It was probably the happiest time in my playing career."

In-form winger Lee Holmes will also be catching up with old friends.

"I think every game when you look at it is a difficult game," Holmes said. "You look at their team on paper and it's a very good team.

"I know Richard Jackson and Darren Currie from Derby, so they've got some great players.

"But we've got to go down there with the same state of mind that we had against Swindon and try and play the best way we can and see what we come away with – hopefully three points."

Money has a full squad to choose from with the exception of Mark Bradley, who is not deemed fit enough to make the 16 after aggravating his ankle injury at Swindon.
