Two first-half goals from Ross Dyer and a third from a Wayne Dyer penalty put the Pitmen well on the way to the three points before Kevin Davies scored a late consolation goal.

Club Captain Tom Marshall returned to the starting line-up for the first time since early December and soon made his mark when in the second minute he sent a long ball through for Ross Dyer to get behind the Worksop defence.

Despite a defender attempting to make a tackle Dyer hit a firm shot from the edge of the box.

Hernandez managed to get a hand on it but was unable to stop the ball from crossing the line.

The second goal came in the 42nd minute when a Rob Davies corner was headed back into the six-yard box for Ross Dyer to score with a diving header.

Andy White nearly reduced the lead just before the break when he flashed a shot from the left across the face of the goal-line

Ben Scott was called into action early in the second half when he dived to turn away Antony Jackson's well placed header.

Ross Dyer then missed a great chance to get his hat-trick goal when he was left with only Hernandez to beat. Jackson, the Worksop centre-half, was sent off in the 58th minute for a poor challenge on Mario Pedro.

Wayne Dyer netted a 70th minute penalty after Rory May had been brought down by Paul Stansfield.

Despite being down to 10 men Worksop pulled a goal back in the 79th minute when the Pitmen defence failed to deal with a loose ball.

Ben Brown needlessly gave the ball back to Kevin Davies who sent a first time shot into the net off the post.
