Bradley targets Walsall return
Walsall midfielder Mark Bradley is hoping to make his first team comeback against Swindon on Saturday.
Walsall midfielder Mark Bradley is hoping to make his first team comeback against Swindon on Saturday.
The 20-year-old midfielder injured his ankle during the 2-1 defeat at Carlisle on February 2 and was forced to sit out the victory over Yeovil and the defeat at Swansea.
The injury also forced Bradley to withdraw from the Wales Under-21 squad for their 4-0 victory in Malta, but he is hopeful of being back in contention for the trip to the County Ground after working his way back to fitness.
"I've been working hard with the physio over the past couple of weeks," Bradley said. "I'm getting stronger all of the time and I am hopeful of being involved at Swindon on Saturday.
The highly-rated midfield man admitted that he was relieved to discover that the injury wasn't as bad he initially feared.
"At first I thought I had damaged my ligaments," he said. "But it was diagnosed as bone bruising at the bottom of my ankle.
"I want to push-on over the next few days and give myself a chance of getting back into action at the weekend."
Bradley believes the enforced break, due to the Bristol Rovers postponement, will benefit the team.
"Having a break last weekend will have helped the lads," Bradley said.
"We want to be able to give it a real go for the run-in."
