Both teams were going through a lean spell and with neither side having hit the net in either of their last two outings, this game never looked to be a goal fest.

Chasetown started off the brighter and it was a nervous start for keeper Andrew Kemp who fumbled an early Dean Craven free kick in his area, but fortunately, United had bodies in numbers to clear the loose ball.

Another error from Kemp, this time choosing a poor throw out that was easily intercepted by Danny Smith, but once again, Chasetown just could not turn the mistake to their advantage.

The game was starting to get a little feisty and with former Scholars midfielder Ben Twigger and defender Jason Williams already in the referee's notebook, Danny Pitham was fortunate not to join his colleagues after a crude challenge on Smith created a mini scuffle between the two sides.

The Bedworth goal came in the 64th minute and it had a real touch of fortune about it.

Jamie Williams embarked on a good run on the United left flank and his low ball into the area was aimed for Aladetown.

Joe Williams had read the pass and he slid in to make a clearance only to see the ball ricochet off the striker's shins and back through the legs of Evans into the net.

The closest the Scholars came to rescuing the game saw Lamey's well struck shot being tipped over the bar by Kemp.
