Rangers hoping to repeat win
Stafford Rangers hope that lightning will strike twice when they tackle Forest Green tomorrow.
Stafford Rangers hope that lightning will strike twice when they tackle Forest Green tomorrow.
A month ago Rangers dumped the Gloucestershire club out of the FA Trophy and are now plotting to follow it up with points for their Blue Square Premier survival campaign.
But caretaker boss Kevin Street has put the plyers on Fleetwood alert.
Forest Green have the league's top scorer in Stuart Fleetwood and the 30-goal hot shot recently turned down big money moves to League clubs.
"We will have to keep an eye on him and prepare properly for the game."
But Street is backing Wayne Daniel and Richard Sutton to be up for the job.
"Richie has been outstanding since he's come in at centre half after Jemiah Richards' injury.
"And Alex Gibson has done really well at right back.
"It's going to be very tough at Forest Green, however we are building up confidence and we feel we can go on and do better.
"After beating Weymouth I was gutted that our game at Histon was abandoned.
"I thought we were going to go on and win it, so it's no wonder their manager was desperate to get it called off."
Unfortunately for Street and his colleague Neil Grayson, who returns to a club where he is still regarded as a 'living legend', Rangers still have injury and suspension problems.
Midfielder Ross Draper will once again be on the sidelines – he was due to complete his two-match ban at Histon, but under FA rules suspensions for abandoned matches do not count and carry over to the next fixture.
And defender Jimi Sangare is still a doubt, even though he came on for the 20 minutes of the second half at Histon. Matt Hazley also faces a fitness check.
New signing Ishmale Reid, the 20-year-old brother of former Rangers and Vale midfielder Levi Reid, is added to the squad.
Stafford Rangers squad for Forest Green: Alcock, Allen, Gibson, Ingram, Sangare, Daniel, Sutton, Street, Jarrett, Hopkinson, Shaw, Flynn, Arnolin, Adaggio, Grayson, Olaoye, McNiven, Meakin-Richards, Reid.
