The 21-year-old brother of former Rangers midfielder Levi Reid has previously been with Port Vale, Stafford Town, Cradley Town and Rocester.
Reid, plus Saturday's signings – matchwinner Courtney Shaw, 21, and 19-year-old Keenan Meakin-Richards – are in the squad for tonight's clash at Histon.
Rangers go into the game seeking to make it two successive wins after Saturday's first home league win of the season against Weymouth.
And they prepare for their first visit to the Cambridgeshire outfit with a rallying cry from caretaker boss Neil Grayson.
The 43-year-old veteran has warned them to forget Saturday's win and knuckle down to some hard work.
"We're still a long way from safety and when you're fighting for your lives, you can't afford to carry passengers," said Grayson.
"No-one's giving up. The players can enjoy the win (over Weymouth), but they've also got to enjoy the hard work that's to come.
"I've told the lads if they keep doing the business for us, I'll look after them while Kevin and I are still in charge."
Saturday's victory lifted Rangers off the bottom of the table, by virtue of Droylsden's defeat by Altrincham, but the latter remain 13 points ahead in the safety zone.
Weymouth, though, are now looking over their shoulders at the relegation pack.
Tiny village club Histon are located just outside Cambridge, are the suprise package in the Blue Square Premier this season.
Rangers were a shade unlucky to be held 1-1 in their first meeting back in September.
Defender Jimi Sangare returns from a one-match ban, but Ross Draper completes a two-match ban. There could be a recall after injury for Matt Hazley at left-back.
The Northern Ireland under-21 international has made numerous appearances for Stoke reserves in that position and Rangers are short since Ryan Lynch's recall by Crewe.
