Rangers face a vital Blue Square Premier game against Weymouth at Marston Road tomorrow but their injury-hit squad has now been shrunk further by suspensions.
Midfielder Ross Draper is out for two matches after collecting his tenth yellow card of the season against Tamworth last Saturday and fender Jimi Sangare has a one-match ban for five bookings.
Rangers have already lost Jemiah Richards and Marco Adaggio through injury, defender Ryan Lynch was called back by Crewe at the end of his loan and midfielder Matt Hazley looks like joining the casualty list through a groin strain.
Street and Grayson have been given permission to strengthen the squad.
Secretary and financial director Mike Hughes said: "It's a good bet that we will have a loan player in for the weekend, probably a defender, but we can't make any moves until today."
Rangers, still smarting from their FA Trophy exit, will have midfielder Seb Arnolin back in the fold after he was cup-tied for the Tamworth games and there is a possibility that Richard Sutton and Nathan Smith will be fit enough to rejoin the squad.
Rangers' only win in the league so far this season came at Weymouth back in September and a "double" over the Terras would be a big boost for the Blue Square Premier's bottom team.
"I know it looks extremely bleak at the moment, but if everyone is up for the task, the managers, the players, the club officials and the supporters, who knows what can happen. Four wins would put us right back in the melting pot," said Hughes.
