Third-placed Halesowen gained a useful point at play-off rivals Chippenham after an explosive opening saw two players sent off and a saved penalty.

Yeltz defender Decio Gomes received his straight red card for handling Scott Lye's volley on the goalline after just nine minutes but in-form goalkeeper Mark Osborn saved the penalty by Kye Holly.

Chippenham's Aaron Cornwall then received his marching orders in a 19th minute flashpoint.

Cornwall was fouled by Darren Caskey but as both players squared up, Cornwall head-butted the Halesowen captain, who escaped with a booking.

The game developed into an even contest with Dean Brennan firing a half-volley onto the roof of the net and Kevin Halliday slicing wide for the Bluebirds.

Battling Halesowen finished on top although it was both goalkeepers who kept the scores level with superb final minute saves.
