Kidderminster's hopes of repeating last season's FA Trophy Wembley adventure ended when they lost a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Weymouth won the shootout to earn a third round round trip to Ebbsfleet United.

But Harriers will be kicking themselves after they had hit back twice to get back on level terms in the 90 minutes.

Extra time had failed to produce any further goals with the Terras keeping their cool in the shoot-out to wreck Kidderminster's bid to return to Wembley where they were beaten by Stevenage Borough in last season's final.

After earning a replay with a dour 0-0 draw at Weymouth, Mark Yates' men were unable to tame the Terras due to a superb goalkeeping display by Jason Matthews.

He pulled of a string of excellent saves to help his side take the match into penalties.

Two further fine stops during the shoot-out were enough to end Harriers' interest in the competition and condemn them to only their second defeat in their last 11 league and cup outings.

Weymouth took the lead after six minutes when striker Michael Malcolm made the most of poor defending by Harriers following a corner.

Matthews then produced stunning first half saves to thwart Simon Russell and Mark Creighton while his opposite number Scott Bevan did equally well to foil Stuart Beavon and Malcolm. Kidderminster took just five minutes of the second half to get back onto level terms. Joel Kitamarike was booked for a foul on Iyseden Christie and from the resulting free-kick Jeff Kenna scored from the edge of the area.

Weymouth regained the lead on 64 minutes when Aggborough skipper Stuart Whitehead completely mis-kicked while attempting a clearance to enable Malcolm to bag his second goal.

Kidderminster made it 2-2 in the 71st minute when indecision by Kitamarike and Bondz Ngala allowed James Constable to gain possession and slide the ball into an empty net after rounding Matthews.

During the second half of extra time Constable had a 'goal' disallowed for off-side before Harriers had strong penalty appeals for handball turned down. Matthews also made another super save to stop a header from Christie to take the tie into a penalty shoot-out. Paolo Vernazza put Weymouth head from the spot before Christie blazed his kick high over the bar.

James Coutts converted the visitors second kick which was followed by Constable having his effort saved by Matthews.

Stuart Douglas made it 3-0 before Harriers' night of despair ended when Matthews prevented Justin Richards from giving his side a lifeline.

Kidderminster: Bevan; Kenna, Whitehead, Creighton, Blackwood; Russell, Penn (Hurren, 41), Ferrell, McGrath (Richards, 70); Constable, Christie. Subs not used: Coleman, Bignot, Barnes-Homer.
