Rangers call for youth
Stafford Rangers caretaker bosses Neil Grayson and Kevin Street may have to call up reinforcements from the youth team to bolster the squad for tomorrow's Blue Square Premier game against Ebbsfleet at Marston Road.
Stafford Rangers caretaker bosses Neil Grayson and Kevin Street may have to call up reinforcements from the youth team to bolster the squad for tomorrow's Blue Square Premier game against Ebbsfleet at Marston Road.
The suspension of Chris Flynn and Luke Potter's recall by Barnsley has left the duo with only 14 fit professionals, with Jimi Sangare battling injury to make it 15.
Grayson and Street failed to get Barnsley to change their minds over Potter, leaving Rangers without a naturally left sided defender.
Richard Sutton may have to cover that position, with Jemiah Richards switching to right back - and that assumes Sangare will be be able to play.
Street said: "This is an opportunity for us to give players on the fringe of the first team a chance to show what they can do.
"One of the most positive things to come out of the last few weeks is Ross Draper, who's been superb in the centre of midfield.
"We wouldn't have found that out if he hadn't had the opportunity to play.
"We know things have got to improve, we knew that anyway, but you can see the way we want to take the team, making lots of chances for the first time.
"We believe we can go on to better things."
Grayson says morale in the camp is still high, despite the Boxing Day defeat by Burton: "We had a word with the lads strasight after the game and they know we were doing ok until Chris Flynn's sending off.
"We just have to make sure we get something out of games when we are doing well."
Rangers: Alcock, Allen, Sutton, Daniel, Richards, Sangare, Street, Hamilton, Mawene, Ingram, Draper, Hopkinson, McNiven, Grayson, Arnolin.
