Glassboys belief wins praise

Stourbridge assistant boss Jon Ford has hailed the belief of the Glassboys players as the key to their promotion push.

Stourbridge won at Buxton for the second time in a week to add an FA Trophy win to their FA Cup victory.

Stourbridge missed out on the chance to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games by losing to Chasetown last weekend but have bounced back with wins against Cinderford and Willenhall.

And Ford reckons that is a good sign ahead of a vitally important second half of the season.

"The team have been positive throughout the season – there is a great belief running through this squad," he said.

"We believe we can get something out of every game and that is a very good sign with some important games coming up.

"We lost to Chasetown but the way that we've managed to bounce back has been fantastic and I think it speaks volumes about the attitude and mentality running through this squad."

Ford believes that the quality of the team will shine through in the second half of the season and he is backing the Glassboys to go one better than they did last time out.

"We haven't got the biggest squad and we're running with about 14 or 15 players, but they're quality players.

"I know we struggled in the second half of last season but a lot of the players who were here then are still with us, so hopefully they will have learned something."
