The Pitmen's first chancecame in the 26th minute when Anthony Maguire shot wide after Ross Dyer had created the opening. Walmsley was cautioned for dissent after 28 minutes and was lucky to stay on after clashing with Chris Adam minutes later on the touchline.
On-loan Chris Hanna had a save blocked by Michael Hale. As Hanna went for the rebound his feet were taken from underneath him by a defender. The home crowd called for a penalty, but teh referee waved play on.
Fleetwood extended their lead in the 42nd minute. Gilmartin was left stranded and did well to block Steve Foster's shot, but he was powerless to stop Jamie Milligan who was on hand to strike home the rebound from close range.
A poor pass inside by Chad Sheppard allowed Fleetwood to break quickly into the Pitmen's penalty area and only a deflection for a corner stopped Bell from scoring.
In the 72nd minute Chad Sheppard took a free kick and played a pin-pointpass to Ross Dyer, who headed over from close range.
In the 80th minute the Pitmen played their best move of the game but Alan Nagington's weak shot was straight at Hale.
Rene Gilmartin was forced into a fine save in the 82nd minute a Jamie Milligan shot from under the bar. Ross Adams was next to miss a chance when he scuffed a shot straight to Hale.
In the 89th minute Fleetwood sub Alex Taylor wrapped up the scoring.
