Yeltz entertaining the fans
General manager Colin Brookes has hailed Halesowen's entertainers for hitting form at the perfect time to impress potential new fans.
The new-look Yeltz drew their biggest attendance of the season when 530 turned up at The Grove to watch them play Rugby Town in the premier division of the British Gas Business League.
And Morell Maison's men responded by turning on the style in front of the bumper crowd, winning 4-1 to continue their climb towards the promotion battle at the top of the table.
Brookes is hoping that the fans who attended following the highly-publicised arrivals of Maison and football consultant Ron Atkinson will now be tempted to return as the Yeltz continue their promotion push.
Brookes said: "We had 530 people through the gates, which is a lot of people for us. They must have read or heard some of the coverage in the media and decided to come to find out what all the fuss was about.
"What we needed to do then was play well and win to make sure that those people came back, and in fairness to Morell and the players that is exactly what happened.
"We played some excellent football and scored four goals in a really good win, so hopefully that will have convinced one or two of those fans that we are worth another look."
The Yeltz followed up the victory over Rugby with a 2-0 defeat by the same opponents in the Errea Cup on Tuesday night.
Maison, who took over the manager's job from Martin O'Connor and is heading a consortium planning to take over from chairman Nigel Pitt, used the midweek match to take a look at some of his fringe players.
And Brookes does not believe elimination from the club's 'league cup' was the end of the world.
He said: "I think we made eight changes from the team at the weekend so Morell could take a look at some of the players who haven't had a lot of football since he took over.
"Obviously he would have liked to have won but I don't think he was too disappointed about going out. Carrying on winning in the league is obviously his main priority.
"We lost 2-0 on Tuesday but we played some excellent football at times and I'm sure Morell will have used it to learn a few things about one or two players.
"He was able to see Scott Lycett, who he signed last week, play at centre-back with Stuart Pierpoint and they both looked big, strong and quick.
"And Nick Amos managed to get through an hour after missing the last few matches because of injury.
"He came through it well and trained okay on Thursday, so it was useful for quite a few players."
