Redditch United 1 Stourbridge 2

Two goals in the first nine minutes helped Stourbridge dump Blue Square North outfit Redditch United out of the Birmingham Senior Cup.

Stourbridge won at Buxton for the second time in a week to add an FA Trophy win to their FA Cup victory.

Strikes from Paul Danks and Sam Rock did the damage as the Glassboys reached the last eight of the competition.

It was a dream start for Danks who marked his first start of the season after a year out through injury with a goal in the opening minute.

The striker linked well with Mark Jones and beat Redditch keeper Richard Antiss at the second attempt with a fierce angled drive.

Danks then turned provider for Stourbridge to double their lead eight minutes later, clipping over a cross which Rock dispatched first time.

Damion Markman wasted a chance to get the hosts back into the game when he headed wide in the 16th minute.

But despite chances being created at both ends, Stourbridge keeper Lewis Solly kept Redditch as bay until four minutes from time when Richard Softley turned a Damian Whitcombe cross into the net.

Stourbridge then needed a goal line clearance from Ollie O'Connell to prevent an equaliser as they held on to go through.
