Two goals from David McNiven, scored either side of the interval, and another early in the game from Marco Adaggio helped Stafford defeat Weymouth, 3-1, and end a run of twelve winless games stretching back to mid-April. Robinson said: "The fans were brilliant. There is a hardcore who travel to support us away from home. "They deserved a victory and it was great for them and for us to see them cheering a win." The manager was also quick to praise his side and felt Rangers thoroughly deserved the three points at the Wessex Stadium. "Credit to the lads. They have kept believing and kept going and have got the rewards for all that.
"We felt that if we could go in at half-time with a lead it would give us a real boost which it did. We finished the game off strongly as well."
Robinson was without two regular midfielders - Chris Flynn and Greg Stones - who were both unable to make the trip - so assistant manager David Oldfield made his first start of the season.
And the presence of the former Manchester City man no doubt made an impact.
Stafford, who moved up one position to third-from-bottom in the Blue Square Premier table, will be looking to build on the Weymouth victory tomorrow evening.
