Stafford Rangers manager Phil Robinson was again left to rue one lapse in concentration at the back which led to Salisbury City scoring the only goal in last night's game.

Marvin Brown was allowed to volley home on the half hour but other than that Rangers put in another solid performance that went unrewarded.

"One bad lapse in concentration led to their goal," said Robinson who was clearly frustrated with the 1-0 defeat.

"There seems to be one mandatory lapse per game and this season we are being punished for it.

"We need to concentrate for 90 minutes as we are close to getting something from the games we are playing.

"There is a very fine line between winning and losing at the moment.

"We certainly did enough to have got something from the game."

Rangers dropped goalkeeper Danny Alcock and gave a debut to 19-year-old Scott Loach, signed on loan from Championship side Watford.

Robinson was pleased with Loach's performance, adding: "Scott dealt with everything he had to do very well.

"Until we started chasing the game in the closing stages he didn't have too much to do in terms of dealing with shots and making saves."

The manager also relegated Richard Sutton and David McNiven to the substitutes bench.

Stafford remain second-from-bottom in the Blue Square Premier table with just one point from ten games.

Worryingly, they have nor score in just over five hours of football despite creating plenty of chances.

On Saturday they travel to Weymouth who lost 2-1 last night at home to Rushden & Diamonds.
