A towering header from Kyle Perry in the 57th minute saw Chasetown avoid a potential banana skin in this FA Cup first Qualifying Round.

Facing a defensive Rocester line up, the pattern for most of the game saw the Scholars try to break down a solid five man Romans defence whilst avoiding being caught on the counter attack.

But the game opened out after Perry's first goal in the blue of Chasetown.

There was a frantic finish to the match with Rocester throwing everything they had at their visitors only to finally run out of time.

It was a good win for Chasetown.
