While Wolves have had eight players away on national duty the Blades had just one - Northern Ireland winger Keith Gillespie.
"The idea came about because we were concerned about the number of internationals we had away this week," chief executive Jez Moxey said.
"After the last international break Mick only had one day to train with the players after they returned, and he asked whether there would be some way of us arranging for the players to be flown back on the night of the game rather than the next day.
"The players arrived back last night and they can now get two sessions in before a very important game against Sheffield United."
