Villa striker John Carew made it three goals in two games for his country as Norway drew 2-2 at home to Group C leaders Greece in Oslo.

Carew bagged a first-half header and played the full 90 minutes.

In-form defender Martin Laursen scored a rare international goal as Denmark kept their qualification hopes alive with a 4-0 victory against Liechtenstein, him and keeper Thomas Sorensen playing 90 minutes in Aarhus.Shaun Maloney was on the bench as Scotland stunned France with a 1-0 victory in Paris to go top of Group B. Albion's Craig Beattie didn't make the 18-man squad.

Villa midfielder Stiliyan Petrov played 60 minutes as Bulgaria cruised to a 3-0 victory against Luxembourg. Wilfred Bouma was also on the winning side, completing 90 minutes as Holland won 1-0 in Albania.

Albion midfielder Zoltan Gera will miss Hungary's Euro 2008 qualifier with Malta next month after being sent-off against Turkey last night.

Gera was dismissed in the 63rd minute for two bookable offences as Hungary were beaten 3-0 in Istanbul.

Robert Koren helped Slovenia to a 1-0 win over Belarus, while fellow midfielder Chris Brunt suffered last minute heartbreak in Iceland as a Keith Gillespie own goal condemned Northern Ireland to a 2-1 defeat.

Defender Carl Hoefkens played 90 minutes as Belgium were held to a 2-2 draw in Kazakhstan.
