Kidderminster boss Mark Yates will delay naming his team to face York tomorrow to give captain Stuart Whitehead time to recover from his ankle injury.

The Harriers skipper re-injured his ankle in training on Monday just weeks after returning from summer ankle surgery.

He missed Tuesday's draw at Farsley Celtic but Yates is optimistic he will be back for tomorrow's Aggborough clash.

"We have a reasonably clean bill of health but we are waiting to see how Stuart Whitehead comes through the next 24 hours," said Yates.

"He is our captain and he is a big player for us so we will give him the maximum possible period to recover.

"I won't be naming the team today. I will wait until tomorrow so we can see how 'Stuey' is."

Yates is anxious to get Whitehead back alongside Mark Creighton at the heart of his defence as he looks to build on a run of two wins and a draw in the last three matches.

"I've been really pleased with the last three performances and now we need to continue in the same way," said Yates.

"To do that we need to be keeping clean sheets consistently."
