Wolves keeper Matt Murray is recovering at home after undergoing surgery to repair his cruciate knee ligament.

The giant shot-stopper went under the knife in Bradford on Monday and is expected to be out for most of the campaign, after being injured during pre-season training.

Physio Barry Holmes said: "Matt had quite an extensive operation to repair the ligament in his left knee.

"I spoke to him yesterday and he feels fine. He's resting up at home for a few days then he'll be back in with us next week to start his rehab work.

"But he's going to be out for six or seven months at least.

"He's a great lad and, despite all the bad luck he's had, he'll know he'll get back and will be focused."
