Kidderminster assistant boss Neil Howarth heaped praise on his side after their clinched theier second win of the season with a 1-0 sucess at Rushden.
Harriers were good value for their victory, with Russell Penn's finish on the hour fromJames Constable's cross one of several chances they created.
Howarth said: "All week since the Grays game and again since the Stevenage match the players have had a determination in their eyes that perhaps we haven't had since the start of the season.
"We like to have the hard-working ethos and for 90 minutes we got in their faces.
"Without being disrespectful to Rushden we ended up quite comfortable winners and could have had another three or four more goals on another day.
Both Justin Richards and James Constable went close before the interval - Constable rattled the bar with a fine long-range effort while Richards fired across the face of goal.
Constable himself went close four minutes later after he cruised past former Harriers captain Wayne Hatswell.
His low finish had Bastock beaten but trickled passed the post.
Rather than sitting on their one goal lead Harriers pressed forward for another as Rushden struggled to get the ball away from Ferrell.
And 11 minutes from time Penn had a shot blocked but reacted quickly to cross for Constable who fired over.
Harriers host Exeter this Saturday and Howarth warned they will face another tough side.
"They're going to be up there at the end of the season as I'm sure will be Rushden, Stevenage and Grays so we've had a tough start.
"But that's no excuse because we've under-performed massively.
"We know that and I'd like to think the team we had out yesterday and the performance they put in is what our team is about and not what they've produced so far this season."
