Stourbridge won at Buxton for the second time in a week to add an FA Trophy win to their FA Cup victory.

Two defensive lapses from setpieces ultimately proved costly for the visitors.

Stourbridge threatened first with a Leon Broadhurst downward header saved by home keeper Dean Bull.

But Barton drew first blood on 13 when Dean Brennan diverted home Charlie Mapes's free-kick.

The Glassboys might have levelled when a Mark Jones cross dropped to Sam Rock, but his first shot was blocked by Bull before he clipped the rebound over.

Barton held the upper hand though with Brennan heading narrowly wide and Moses Olaleye seeing a shot blocked by the legs of Lewis Solly.

Stourbridge drew level two minutes after the restart.

Mark Bellingham played a free-kick wide to Jamie Rogers on the overlap and his low cross was rifled home by Leon Broadhurst.

The Glassboys joy proved shortlived however. Seven minutes later, they were caught napping at a free-kick as the ball was played quickly into Brennan and he controlled well before burying his shot past Solly.

The visitors tried to respond and Andy Wells curled a low shot just wide, before Bellingham's volley was pushed away by Bull.

The Glassboys' best chance came in the 74th minute when the unmarked John Williams headed wide from Wells's cross. Barton might have increased their lead when substitute Zema Abbey ran struck a shot wide.
