Rushall Olympic were forced to play the final 20 minutes against newcomers Leamington at Dales Lane with 10-men as they turned in a gutsy display to bravely hold on to a slender 1-0 advantage.

The visitors were stunned in the 26th minute when a superb run down the right by Lee Gough saw the wing back evade a heavy challenge before whipping in a fine centre that Damien Charie rifled home.

The game could have altered dramatically on 71 minutes when referee Mr Granda dished out a second caution to midfielder Chad Sheppard for an innocuous looking challenge, forcing the home side down to 10-men and with their backs very much against the wall.

Despite the advantage the Brakes rarely failed to trouble the home rearguard.

But with nine minutes remaining they did have the ball in the back of the net but it was disallowed for an infringement.
