Midfielder Phil Trainer burst into the area and hammered a shot past Alcock on the stroke of half-time.

Trainer scored again 19 seconds after the restart with a rising drive into the top left corner from just outside the area.

Craig McAughtrie struck a late free-kick for Stafford but Phil Robinson's side remain rooted to the foot of the table.
