Rushall have been dealt a blow ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Leamington after influential midfielder Grant Beckett was ruled for a month with a hamstring injury.

Beckett was injured during Tuesday night's defeat at neighbours Chasetown, and boss Paul Holleran admitted it was a bitter blow so early on in the season.

"We've lost Grant Beckett to what looks like a hamstring tear and we think he could be out for up to a month," said Holleran.

"It's a blow to us because at this level he is a big player. But one thing we've done over the summer is make the squad stronger."

Holleran has striker Sean Dowdall available for the first time this season to face a Leamington side promoted from the Midland Alliance last season.

But Holleran expects the Warwickshire outfit to be among the promotion chasers.

"They will be a big team this year because they have backing," he said.

"I watched them the other week and they have quality, resources and a fan base of 6-700.

"They could do what Histon did and go through the leagues.

"They won 5-0 the other day and I expect them to be a play-off team at least so it's a tough one for us."
