Harriers on revenge mission
Kidderminster manager Mark Yates today challenged his team to gain revenge on Grays tomorrow and banish memories of their heavy defeat there in April.
Harriers were well beaten 3-0 in Essex in their penultimate league match of last season after their challenge for the play-offs had faded away.
And Yates believes tomorrow's return to the same venue with his new-look side is the perfect opportunity to put things right.
He said: "We went there towards the end of the season with a pretty depleted squad and we took a bit of a battering to be honest.
"I know this is a new season but that game is still something that is in my mind.
"For myself and the others who went down there for that game this is the perfect opportunity to put that right and that's what we'll be trying to do."
Yates has hinted at a possible team shake-up for tomorrow's match despite his side picking up their first victory of the season on Tuesday.
Harriers will travel to Essex in high spirits after getting their first points of the new season from a 3-1 win at Stafford on Tuesday.
But the manager has a host of selection dilemmas with players available again after injuries and suspensions and he has not ruled out shuffling his pack.
New father Stuart Whitehead is one man sure to come into contention after missing the opening two matches of the season following a summer ankle operation.
Striker Iyesden Christie is itching for his first start of the campaign after summer surgery of his own while defender Jonny Harkness is available after serving a four-match ban.
Yates said: "We have a lot of competition for places this season, which is something that we worked hard to achieve during the summer.
"The lads did well in the second half on Tuesday but there are one or two things to think about and one or two things that I might still tinker with.
"Grays are a good side with a good group of players and a good manager and we will have to do well to get a result.
"But we are perfectly capable of doing just that."
