World champ at Monmore
World champion Jason Crump is set for a sensational return to Elite League speedway action at Monmore Green tonight (7.30pm).
The Australian ace underwent an operation on a broken kneecap last week, and was expected to be out for around a fortnight.
Poole had lined up Adam Shields as a guest for Crump in what is a vital fixture for both sides, but Crump has declared himself fit to ride.
Parrys International Wolves need a win to move themselves back above Lakeside in the table after their weekend defeats at Coventry and Eastbourne, both of which were by an 11-point margin.
There's also good news for the home side, who will be back to full strength as Kenneth Hansen (pictured) returns after missing the last fortnight with broken ribs.
The young Dane has scored six (paid eight) and five in his two home matches since joining the club, and that kind of contribution could be important in a tough fixture against the Pirates, who are making their first visit of the season to Monmore Green.
Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: "Kenneth coming back is a big boost for us, because we've been struggling to score many points from that position since he's been out."
Wolves: Peter Karlsson, David Howe, Billy Hamill, Magnus Karlsson, Fredrik Lindgren, Kenneth Hansen, William Lawson. Poole: Bjarne Pedersen, Troy Batchelor, Jason Crump, Edward Kennett, Craig Boyce, Jason Doyle, Piotr Swist.
