Robinson wants three or four new signings but is keeping his cards close to his chest as to their identities so not to risk losing them after a frustrating summer in the transfer market.

But he admitted: "I'm hoping there are going to have to be some signings this week.

"It has been tough pre-season in terms of coaching and trying to get players to sign.

"We've been chasing targets all summer and we're hoping at least one of those might come off because we're still very light on numbers.

"We lost a lot of players this summer for a lot of reasons. There have also been a number of players who have been here through pre-season that we hope to tie up as well.

"We've spoken to, and had a lot of players here on trial through the summer, but we've found it difficult to complete deals, so it's a case of needing players good enough to play in the Conference.

"Hopefully what we're trying to do is get players that are an improvement on the squad last year.

"So we have a big week ahead of us. We'll be working with the players we've got to start.

"We know players are enjoying their time here with us and we'd like them to stay, but completing the deals has been difficult."
