The Parry's International Wolves visit Midland rivals Coventry tonight, and are hoping to continue the success of Monday night, when they defeated an under-strength Reading side 59-31 at Monmore Green, writes Dave Goddard.

The Coventry race strip, however, has not been kind to Wolves in recent times, and with the Bees tracking Britain's current top two riders in the shape of Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris, plus Brandon track specialist Martin Smolinski at reserve, the Wolves will have their work cut out as they chase a play-off place. The squad makes the long haul to the Sussex coast tomorrow to take on Eastbourne, a track similar in size to the tight confines of Monmore Green and one where the Wolves have performed well in the past.

Flying Former Wolf and current World Championship pacesetter Nicki Pedersen leads the Eagles into battle, but Wolves heat leaders Peter Karlsson (pictured) and Billy Hamill are often rapid around Arlington and should prove more than a match for the Danish star.

The Monmore men's main hopes will be pinned on Karlsson and Fredrik Lindgren, with both in flying form at the moment.

The Swedish pair were both unbeaten by an opponent in the victory over Reading, and both went on to win their Swedish Championship semi-finals on Wednesday night with 15-point maximums.

Karlsson's younger brother Magnus sadly failed to qualify, but he should be fired up and ready to snare points at both Brandon and Arlington.

Wolves reserve Kenneth Hansen will be absent from both fixtures as he recovers from broken ribs, with American young gun Chris Kerr his replacement at Coventry, while Hansen's fellow countryman Tom P Madsen deputises at Eastbourne.
