Rangers game shifted for TV

Stafford Rangers' home game with Halifax Town in the Blue Square Premier has been put back two days so it can be shown live on television.

The match on Thusday, September 6 is being televised on Setanta TV.

As a result of this switch, the away game at Stevenage Borough on Saturday, September 8 may be put back 24 hours to the Sunday.

The first Conference match to be shown live on Setanta will be Torquay United's home game with Grays Athletic during the opening weekend of the season. It has been switched from Saturday to Sunday, August 12 with a 7.30 pm kick-off at Plainmoor.

The club is also seeking permission to erect temporary stands and barriers at Marston Road in time for the start of the new season.

The measures are required to comply with league and Staffordshire County Council safety requirements.

Rangers, who play Walsall in a pre-season friendly at home tomorrow at 7.45pm, entertain Worcestershire rivals Kidderminster Harriers in their first home league game on Tuesday, August 14.
