Peter Harris, aged 62, from Stourport, and Brian Lawley, aged 61, from Bewdley have spent the last six weeks working on the masterpieces to be awarded to the players from Kidderminster Harriers and Stevenage Borough.

The pair work for world famous medal company Toye Kenning and Spencer based in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham.

Peter cut the die for the medals while Brian stamped them with the FA Trophy inscription.

The company has also made the FA Cup winners medals for the last three years and special plaques to mark England international matches. Peter and Brian also make CBE medals for Buckingham Palace.

The FA Trophy medals are made of sterling silver and will be delivered to the FA by the company's sales director Lawrence Middleton.

Peter will be able to see the medals handed out as he will be travelling to Wembley to support Kidderminster in the final.

Peter, who has worked at the firm since 1969, said: "It's been a real honour to make the medals and I can't wait to see Mark Yates and the boys wearing one on the day. They are very special medals which require a lot of intricate work. It's been a really exciting project we're very proud of the medals just as we are of the team."

Mr Middleton added: "The medals are wonderful pieces of craftmanship."

More than 20,000 Kidderminster fans are expected to travel to London for the match on May 12 which is the first domestic game to be staged at the new Wembley Stadium. The match, to be shown on Sky, stands to net the club at least £200,000.
