Lindgren breaks fingers in crash
Wolves speedway ace Freddie Lindgren is on the sidelines for at least a fortnight after a smash in Poland.
The Swedish international was due to miss tonight's Monmore clash against Belle Vue after suffering two broken fingers to his left hand.
He was flying back to England today but will have be only a spectator at the Green, with Wolves operating rider replacement.
"Freddie was injured when things got a bit frantic in a last-heat decider," said promoter Chris Van Straaten today.
"He has been told he could be out for up to six weeks but he wants to be back in two.
"This is a blow because we have the Knockout Cup coming up next week."
However, Wolves are still looking to maintain the momentum of three straight wins tonight.
Having beaten Swindon and Lakeside at home they followed up with an away win on Friday when they beat the Aces 48-42.
Belle Vue are again without injured former Wolves rider Simon Stead, who is replaced by Eastbourne's David Norris.
As an added bonus, the young American touring side will face Wolverhampton's Predators side immediately after the main meeting.
Wolves: Peter Karlsson, David Howe, Billy Hamill, Magnus Karlsson, rider replacement for Freddie Lindgren, William Lawson, Theo Pijper.
Belle Vue: Joe Screen, Ben Barker, David Norris, Ryan Fisher, Kaj Laukkanen, Jason Bunyan, Kevin Doolan.
