The Bescot skipper, who returned to form in last weekend's 4-1 victory over Barnet, is struggling to recover in time for the trip to the Darlington Arena.
Saddlers boss Richard Money revealed the injury this morning and hinted that the midfielder's probable absence could open the door for Darren Wrack's return.
Money said: "We've got one or two problems ahead of the game.
"Chris Westwood has a hamstring problem that we already knew about and he will probably miss the game, although hopefully it isn't too bad.
"But Dobson also has a bit of a calf problem, so he might miss out as well."
Money is likely to add teenage midfielder Mark Bradley to the travelling squad that leaves for the north-east tomorrow, but he dropped a big hint that Wrack may get his chance after impressing in Monday's reserves victory against Birmingham.
Money said " Bradley will certainly be in the mix, but Wrack was 100 per cent improved in the reserves on Monday.
"He really put his head above the water in that game and he has every chance of being involved in some way on Saturday."
Money has no other fresh injury concerns for the weekend, although Australian Allan Picken is still several weeks away from a comeback after his season-long battle against knee problems.
With Westwood ruled out, Money hinted that Craig Pead will play at right-back, ruling him out of the race to fill in for Dobson in midfield.
Money said "We know that Craig could fill that gap in midfield."
