"We are positive and looking forward to the games coming up," was the upbeat message from the Marston Road boss.

In-form Stevenage secured victory thanks partly to two superb first-half goals, scored after David McNiven had put Rangers ahead.

The visitors added a third during the second half and to make matters worse, Rangers' defender Richie Sutton was sent off in injury time."We got off to a good start and I thought overall in the first half we played with some commitment," added Robinson.

"We stopped them playing and at times we played some good stuff. We scored a goal and had other opportunities with David McNiven looking like he might score another.

"We got in good areas, but it was one of those nights where they hit two wonder strikes.

"It knocked my players to come in at half time behind. As the game went on we looked a little tired compared to them. Again it is that part-time and full-time thing."

Sutton will miss two games through suspension after also picking up a fifth booking of the season and Robinson has other fitness worry for Saturday's important trip to St Albans City.

"We are going to have to nurse a few players through training on Thursday," he said.

"Craig Lovatt had to come off with his calf strain and Ged Murphy looks to have turned his angle."

Stafford Rangers' reserves visit Worcester City in the Central Conference tonight. They will entertain Bromsgrove Rovers next Tuesday at Marston Road in a game put back 24 hours from the originally announced date.
