Kidderminster boss Mark Yates today urged his players to prove their character by bouncing back from the end of their long unbeaten run tomorrow.

Harriers take on Exeter at Aggborough on the back of a surprise defeat at Forest Green last weekend.

That ended a 13-match unbeaten run in all competitions and a sequence of nine straight Conference wins. And Yates has admitted that tasting defeat will provide a different test for his players, although he is convinced that confidence has not been affected.

"Of course it will a test of character and we need to show we can bounce back, but, having said that, the performance last weekend was superb," he said.

"There were a lot of positives to come out of that game and we shouldn't be downhearted by it.

"Fair play to Forest Green for getting three points, but we were by far the better team and if our finishing had been a little bit better we would be been comfortable winners.

"Confidence is still very high because although we lost it's not like we were soundly beaten. The performance was very good and on another day we would have had the game wrapped up by half time.

"Credit to Forest Green for grabbing something that seemed very unlikely for the game, but our confidence hasn't been effected by it because we know how well we played."

Yates is waiting for a fitness update on striker Iyesden Christie as he finalises his plans for tomorrow's match.

The former Mansfield forward is still struggling with a calf strain and Andy White is again standing by to deputise if he failes a late fitness test.

Apart from Christie, Yates has no major injury worries.
