Wolves speedway legend Sam Ermolenko is promising a feast of entertainment at his farewell meeting - on and off the track.

The 1993 world champion says his goodbyes at Monmore on Sunday, March 18.

Ermolenko has already lined up world champion Jason Crump and runner-up Greg Hancock for his big day.

He will be naming other top line riders and outlining the meeting format through his website, www.suddensamsflamingfarewell.com.

But the American wants the fans' day out to encompass more than just the racing.

"Gates will open at 12 noon and there will be Sunday lunch available in the main restaurant," he said.

"Racing starts at 4pm and the racing programme should be approximately three hours.

"I have a marquee being put up - 24 by 24 metres, it's pretty big! We've got live entertainment after the event, starting at about 7pm when the main racing is over.

"I've just got to confirm some other things that are going to be pre-event.

"I'm in contact with a lot of British superbike teams - Hawk Kawasaki are already on board as sponsors - and we're just now confirming some motorcycle demonstrations in the parking lot."

Action on the track will be relayed throughout the stadium. "We're having the meeting taped for broadcast to event monitors," added Ermolenko.

"We hope to have two giant plasma TVs in the marquee and a 10 square metre screen on the back straight.

"In between races the sponsors can then have their commercials shown on the screen."
