Daniel Jones has jetted off to Germany to try to solve his mystery groin injury.
The young midfield star - who has made seven first team appearances this season - is set to undergo surgery this week.
Jones has been missing from first team action since November and was ruled out of the Christmas games after suffering groin pain.
Physio Barry Holmes said: "Initial treatment and rest didn't resolve the situation; it was decided that he should see a hernia specialist in Munich.
"The likelihood is that he will require surgery and, if that is the case, then he will stay in the clinic for a couple of days. The reason we have chosen to use this particular clinic is because it uses a less invasive technique that isn't currently available in this country," added Holmes.
"All being well Daniel should be back in full training in three weeks' time."
