Reserves boss Mark Kinsella today warned Walsall's young guns they must stay patient as they wait for their chance in the first team.

Kinsella believes Saddlers' group of talented teenagers need to serve their apprenticeship with the second string before they are unleashed into the senior ranks.

But he has tipped several of the promising youngsters to make a big impact on the first team when they eventually make the breakthrough.

Kinsella oversaw the latest reserve team victory as they beat Bradford 3-1 on Tuesday with two goals from Alex Nicholls and one from Ishmel Demontagnac.

Several more first-year professionals including Mark Bradley, Graham Deakin and David McDermott also played prominent roles, but Kinsella believes the youngsters will benefit from an extended spell of second string experience.

"Ishmel, Alex and 'Bradders' and players like that are still reserve-team players," said Kinsella. "They were youth team players last season and a spell in the reserves will do them good.

"The first team is another step up again and hopefully in time they will become regular first team players - in one, two or three years, however long it takes."
