Stafford Rangers talisman Neil Grayson faces a crucial appointment with a doctor to decide whether he can play in the club's FA Cup clash with League One Brighton on Saturday.
The evergreen Rangers striker was back in light training last night less than two weeks after he was sent to hospital with concussion following the first-round match at Maidenhead.
But the 42-year-old still faces an anxious wait to see whether medics will give him the all-clear to return to Phil Robinson's team for their big day at the Withdean Stadium.
Manager Phil Robinson said: "We're leaving it largely up to Neil. He did a bit of light training last night and we're going to get him a medical examination later in the week. He is going to come over here and see a local doctor, and if he gets the all-clear after that then it will be up to Neil.
"We're putting him under no pressure to play, but if he feels up to it and he gets the all-clear medically then it will be up to me to make the final decision."
Grayson is in line to make the 24th FA Cup appearance of his 17-year career .
Last night he was involved in most of the Rangers' training session but did not risk heading the ball.
