Karlsson keen on family reunion
Speedway ace Peter Karlsson has dropped a big hint that he wants to stay at Wolves next season. And the club captain also volunteered that he fancies lining up at Monmore alongside his brother, Wolves asset Mikael Max.
Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten, along with the other Elite League club heads, cannot plan too far ahead before next month's BSPA meeting which will settle team strengths.
But Wolves fans will be delighted by Karlsson's declaration. "There's no Grand Prix involved, I want to ride in England," he said.
"I know where my first choice is. Take a guess! I need to sit down with Chris and I hope we can do it sooner than later. It would be good to ride with MM - but we'll have to see what happens."
Max was on loan at Arena Essex last year as he fought back from injury. He would be a "steal" next year on his average, and reports from Essex suggested that promoter Ronnie Russell had permission to talk again.
But Van Straaten jumped on that one, saying no permission had been granted.
And Max was also displeased. "These rumours have nothing to do with me," he said. "I'm actually a little bit annoyed that Arena Essex put out that kind of information."
Max is waiting to see what develops, but said: "As it stands now I'm more of a Wolverhampton rider than an Arena rider. I would like to think that myself anyway.
"I'm owned by Wolverhampton. If I wanted to move from Wolverhampton, then Chris would hear from me. And he hasn't."
Asked about lining up with his brother, Max added: "Every time we have ridden together at Wolverhampton, it's been good times."
