Plea for Bedeau patience
Walsall boss Richard Money has told summer signing Tony Bedeau he must be patient as he waits for a run of matches in the first time. Bedeau has started just one match since his move from Torquay in the close season and the early weeks of his Saddlers career have been blighted by a knee injury.
He was left out for Saturday's win over Mansfield despite scoring on his full debut at Shrewsbury four days earlier, and Money has told him he will have to bide his time."Tony did well and scored at Shrewsbury and his chance will come, but on Saturday I went with the partnership that had played together and done well at home before," said the manager.
"I felt that was the right decision. Tony had a good goalscoring record and he has shown his ability in his two reserve matches so far.
"We have won them and he has scored in both and done well.
"He scored again within five minutes of making his full debut for us and it might be that he turns out to be a 'Johnny on the spot' for us."
Money admitted Bedeau was now pushing hard to take Hector Sam's place alongside leading scorer Martin Butler in the Saddlers attack.
Sam's performances have been solid but he has managed just one goal so far, and Money said Bedeau was now ready to play when required.
