Harriers striker out
Kidderminster have ruled striker Dean Sturridge out of their plans until the New Year after he had surgery on his troublesome Achilles. The former Wolves forward had his operation on Saturday and surgeons are unsure how long his rehabilitation will take.
But manager Mark Yates is resigned to being without his star summer signing for several months."He had the operation and it went okay, but he will be out for a while," said Yates.
"We don't know how long it will be exactly, but it will be at least after Christmas before he plays again."
Sturridge and fellow veteran Jeff Kenna are the only players definitely ruled out for tonight's trip to Halifax.
Kenna is around two weeks away from returning from his hamstring injury, but striker Bob Taylor is in the squad after making his comeback from a hamstring problem at the weekend.
And Yates today ordered a better attitude from his players when they travel to Halifax in the Conference. The Harriers boss hit out at his players' reaction to conceding the only goal of Saturday's defeat to Crawley.
"I felt we did okay in the first half on Saturday, but we were still didn't quite get the tempo or the urgency that we had shown in the previous couple of matches," said Yates.
"But we were level at 0-0 at half time and I felt we just needed to kick on from there and improve on what we had done in the first half."
