The Wanted 2.0 postpone gig due to Max George ‘recovery setback’ after surgery
The concert was due to take place at Manchester Cathedral on February 27.

The Wanted 2.0 have postponed their Manchester Cathedral concert after singer Max George said he would not be “well enough in time” following his second heart operation.
George, 36, was due to reunite with The Wanted bandmate Siva Kaneswaran, also 36, for the gig on Thursday, February 27, which will now be performed at a later date.
In a post on Instagram announcing the postponement, George said: “Hey everyone, I hope you’re good, just a message to let you guys know that unfortunately, myself and Siva’s launch night on the 27th of Feb has been postponed for a little while.
“My second heart op has just set me back a little bit with my recovery, and I’m just not going to be well enough in time.
“Obviously, so gutted, but me and Siva are just working out now, when we’re going to do it, which we 100 per cent will.
“We just need to figure out a date in the near future, but thanks again for all your support.
“Siva has been awesome as always, and we can’t wait to get this venture going, it’s just one of them things.
“It’s a bummer, but I’ll see you very, very soon, love you.”
The concert will aim to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, after one of The Wanted’s members, Tom Parker, died of complications from glioblastoma in 2022.
George revealed earlier this month that he had a second operation weeks after having a pacemaker fitted, after it caused a “flickering sensation” in his chest.
The pacemaker was fitted after the singer was diagnosed with a “2:1 block in my heart”, a condition where the heart beats more slowly or with an abnormal rhythm.
A heart block is caused by a problem with the electrical pulses controlling the heartbeat, according to the NHS website.
The band made up of Parker, George, Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes, have had two UK number one singles and four UK top 10 albums, they are best known for the songs All Time Low and Glad You Came.
The Wanted 2.0 has seen Kaneswaran and George reunite as a duo to perform the group’s songs, with the full band having not toured since Parker’s death.
The concert’s organisers have been contacted for further details.
