AC/DC to play Edinburgh as final port of call on new European tour
The band will play 11 dates across the continent before concluding the tour at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on August 21.
Rock group AC/DC have announced they will perform in Edinburgh this year as part of a European tour.
The band will play 11 dates across the continent before concluding the tour with a final show at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on August 21.
It will be the first time the group have performed in Scotland in 10 years.
The Power Up tour is named after their latest studio album, which has reached number one in 21 countries.
Other venues on the 2025 tour include the Olympiastadion in Berlin, the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid and the Stade De France in Paris.
The Edinburgh date comes the same month that Oasis are set to perform at Murrayfield over three nights. Last year, Taylor Swift also performed several nights at the stadium.
AC/DC have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
Formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973, the band features Brian Johnson on vocals, Angus Young on lead guitar, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Chris Chaney on bass and Matt Laug on drums.
AC/DC founding members Angus Young, his brother Malcolm, and former lead singer Bon Scott were all born in Scotland. Malcolm Young died eight years ago while Bon Scott died in 1980.
Tickets for the shows will be available from 10am on February 7.
