Geri Halliwell-Horner and husband celebrate victory at the races
The couple’s horse won the 3.50pm Willoughby De Broke Open Hunters’ Chase at Warwick Racecourse on Monday.
Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner and her husband Christian Horner were celebrating after their horse won at Warwick Racecourse on Monday.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2015, saw their bay gelding Lift Me Up come first in the 3.50pm Willoughby De Broke Open Hunters’ Chase, ridden by jockey Jack Andrews.
Dressed in a white-and-cream outfit, and a large green hat, Halliwell-Horner clapped and thanked Andrews after he beat Benny’s King, Jeux D’Eau, and Lord Du Mesnil.
She also shouted from the stands following the triumphant finish.
Halliwell-Horner and her Red Bull-boss husband – who also attended the race track – have owned the nine-year-old racehorse for the past few years.
The pair named the horse after Halliwell-Horner’s solo song, Lift Me Up, after buying the gelding, a relative of the racehorse Denman, from a trainer in Ireland.
It made its race debut in 2022, and is trained by Maxine Filby.
Halliwell-Horner has previously revealed they also call the horse Hector.
Last year, Horner attended Buckingham Palace to be made Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to motorsport.
Halliwell-Horner has a son, Montague George Hector Horner, with the Red Bull boss.
She has in recent years stepped away from music to focus on writing children’s fiction, including the series Rosie Frost.
Halliwell-Horner also has a daughter, Bluebell Madonna, born in 2006, with former partner and screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.
