Australian actress Cate Blanchett, British actresses Kate Winslet and Cynthia Erivo, James Bond actor Daniel Craig, and Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd have led the early arrivals at the 2025 Golden Globes.

The Oscar winner, who is nominated for best performance by a female actress in a limited series or TV movie for Disclaimer, arrived on the red carpet in a gold sparkly outfit for the 82nd Golden Globes, which is being held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Blanchett, who plays a famous documentary maker and journalist in the thriller series who is forced to confront her past, is up against Winslet – who came in a white suit – for playing a dictator in The Regime.

Jodie Foster for crime series True Detective: Night Country, and Sofia Vergara for playing a drug dealer in Griselda are also among those in the same category.

Winslet, who will also compete with other Hollywood actresses in the lead actress motion picture drama category for her turn as model turned war correspondent Elizabeth Miller in Lee, told Variety magazine that it is “amazing year for women” which she is “so happy to be a part of”.

She also said: “I have to say its extraordinary because since Covid I think we all got out of the habit of being on the carpet and being on show, definitely (there is) a different level of nerves kicking in.”

Winslet will face Angelina Jolie as late opera star Maria Callas in the self-titled biopic, Maria, Nicole Kidman in erotic thriller Babygirl and Tilda Swinton for friendship tale The Room Next Door, in the movie actress category.
