Mark Mountford, 41, has given his brother Lee one of his kidneys after renal failure meant that Lee, who is 28, had to spend hours undergoing dialysis. Mark is now back at home, while Lee is making making good progress after the operation in Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Lee has suffered only minimal complications after the operation. Bod the elderly labrador was rushed into the emergency clinic at Haygate Veterinary Centre, in Wellington, after his owners realised he was struggling to breathe. Staff stabilised him until surgeons treated him yesterday. Bod underwent life-saving treatment after X-rays revealed it was a wishbone which was stopping his breathing. His wife Joyce said today that she was disgusted by the cancellations. "We will try again on Monday but it's like trying to win the lottery," said Mrs Wild, 74.
