The police car then collided with a white Renault Clio waiting to turn at the junction, near The Neachells pub. The car was understood to be responding to an emergency call. Ben Footman, who currently patrols Great Wyrley, was awarded the Special Constable of the Year title for his commitment, dedication and positive attitude, at a special ceremony held this week. The 21-year-old joined Staffordshire Police at Watling Street Neighbourhood Policing Unit in March 2005 and completed his training and competency evidence within one year.
