Health chiefs today pledged to invest millions of pounds in extending opening times at GP surgeries across Telford & Wrekin. Health chiefs today pledged to invest millions of pounds in extending opening times at GP surgeries across Telford & Wrekin. If all 20 practices in the borough sign up to the "extended hours" scheme, Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust will invest about £600,000 every year, totalling more than £3 million over the next five years. The move aims to make it easier for patients to see a family doctor. It will see many practices open for longer during weekdays, as well as having the option of offering Saturday morning appointments.
